Hello! I’m Erica and I live in Kirriemuir with my husband, three children, two dogs, hens, guinea pigs and a cockerel named Elvis.
I have worked in marketing for 15 years across a range of industries, both in-house and agency based, and including education, food and drink, travel and environment. My experience spans public relations, event management, campaigning, print marketing, brand management and digital marketing. For the past six years, I have specialised in social media marketing and while it was a subject that wasn’t even taught when I was at university (and in fact a medium that largely didn’t exist), a redundancy following my return to work after my second baby has since led me down a path that has allowed to grow my knowledge of using social media for business and specialise in the online growth and promotion of brands and businesses.
I run Butterfly, Social & Digital, which I set up after recognising a real need among small, local businesses, entrepreneurs and solopreneurs for dedicated support and training in using social media to grow and develop a business. I offer services in social media strategy, management and training. If a business finds social media confusing or doesn’t know where to begin but doesn’t have the budget to outsource a retained agency, I can help with initial brand development, digital presence, channel set up and brand reputation. In addition, I can put in processes that will make running social media accounts less time consuming and with better results.
I’m also employed part time at the Robert Gordon University as a Communications Officer.
I will travel over Angus, Dundee, Perth and South Aberdeenshire for consultations but will often recommend using skype for initial meetings to keep business as low carbon as possible. However, nothing beats a face to face chin wag so if that’s what your business needs, that’s perfectly fine.
