Angus Up-cycling Project SCIO is a charity which endeavours to reduce waste and pollution in Angus by tackling the growing amount of furniture that goes to landfill and incineration.
As part of the project we assist young people to learn knew skills outwith school, assist them work together with others within different environments from their school setting at the same time as learning that “we do not need to throw everything away once finished with it” and that someone else can always benefit from it.
The project is made up of three trustees who all volunteer their time by acquiring small pieces of furniture, up-cycling then selling them on to raising funds and awareness of the project as well as re-purposing and creating a circular economy for furniture that would ordinarily go to land fill and incineration.
